Beautiful Weekend

What a treat to have my sister's family up for a visit, being my niece and nephew's first trip to San Francisco with amazing 80 degree weather! They got to experience SF public transit -taking Muni buses, trains, and a cable car. At Fisherman's Wharf we walked around and saw street performers including a clown who made Katie a cute balloon flower, sea lions, great views of the bridge and Alcatraz. We stopped for a nice seafood lunch - the crab-salad sandwich was great with chilled white wine. Then off to Aquatic Park and Ghiradelli Square. I highly recommend the cookie-bottom sundae!

The kids stayed with us one night, so we entertained with pizza and a scrabble game. The next morning Katie helped make scrambled eggs. We took them for a morning walk in the Botanical Gardens which they seemed to enjoy exploring. Then up to Stow Lake where we rented a paddle-boat. To my surprise, the kids did the pedaling nearly the whole time and it's hard leg work. Boy are they strong! Later we took a trip to the Exploratorium museum, right next to the Palace of Fine Arts.
We ended the evening with an Italian dinner at Milano Pizzeria & Italian Restaurant. Grazie Ciao.
