June, July, August

Since my last post in May, we had a great trip to Washington DC where we saw our creative-foster-daughter Martina, and Jean D'Arc,

and lots of sites.
We stumbled upon the original USS Enterprise!

Including a trip to Mount Vernon, thanks to my cousin Jamie.

Then in July we had a spa day in Calistoga, and lunch at the Coppola Winery.

Now it's August and we just made a quick trip to Lake Tahoe. The beach, and lakes, and mountains were so much more rewarding than the casinos.

Attempting 'tree pose' by this gorgeous lake on our  hike.

This is my victory photo because this hike challenged me and I kept going, hiking beyond my fears and mental limits.
That's why I hike. Not because I love it (although I do love nature), but because it always challenges me. And when I keep hiking and get past the mental limitations, sometimes, I even get a new perspective on what is possible.
Cool metal sculptures and a box with new sport sandals.

My husband the experienced hiker.
I am also getting some coaching help from the amazing Tess. She is all about facing fears and taking action, which is what I am now working on and through. Plus she makes me laugh, and reminds me to dream and play.

I also want to read this book: http://www.amazon.com/dp/1401341950/ref=as_li_ss_til?tag=marriedwithluggage-20&camp=0&creative=0&linkCode=as4&creativeASIN=1401341950&adid=1ETTZSJ3EBBBBR3EZ1D3

And see this movie: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2334873/
