Maira Kalman

I finally went see the Maira Kalman Exhibit at the CJM today for my lunch break.

Maira Kalman has done many covers and pages for the New Yorker, as well as illustrated blogs, children's and adult books, etc. I'd like to get this book that Cynthia mentioned recently.

Her framed art on display was mostly gauche on paper. She also had some embroidery pieces, and collections of objects. Apparently she is fascinated with ordinary things like ladders, ironing boards (& ironing), suitcases, and collects items such as buttons, rubber bands, onion rings...
